This week is the Philadelphia Flower Show. This year’s theme is Hawaii: Islands of Aloha.
Pretty cool, huh? It’s not too late to go. Click here for more information.
We’re…not going. Taking a three year-old is a bit much for me. Don’t get me wrong, it’s beautiful (I’ve been before) but it’s crowded, very crowded. Leah would stay interested for about three seconds and for the price of tickets and more importantly, my sanity, it’s not worth it.
So, I decided we’d have our own little flower show. First and foremost, Leah was dressed for the show. Here she is with her flower in her hair.
There’s a farm close by that has a pretty big store, which is almost like a greenhouse with lots of plants. I thought it would be cool to walk around there and take some pictures.
We drove over and it was closed until mid-March. Boo! Luckily, Leah didn’t really get what we were doing so she wasn’t too upset.
But I was determined to have our own flower show. The only place I could think of that might have flowers was Home Depot. So, that’s where we went. Here’s what we saw:
Not too shabby, huh? Okay, so what if they are close up (not a whole floral display) and who cares that the last one is from the vase on the table at Chick-fil-a where we had lunch. It’s still flowers!
We even splurged and brought one home.
The orchids were on sale and I’ve really wanted one for a while, so we did it. We had a great day at our own (much less expensive and harried) flower show.
