My husband has been talking about visiting a Brazilian steakhouse for years. Are you familiar with these types of places? It’s where they cook meat rotisserie style and then bring the meat around on skewers. They shave off pieces of the cooked meat from the skewer onto your plate.
And, they keep coming! It’s an all-you-can-eat type of an affair. When my husband would talk about previously visiting these places, my son would get excited. He loves steak and wanted to go!
One problem, my son had a hard time finishing his food – he just couldn’t eat a lot at one time. Every time he left food on his plate, my husband would tell him, “You’re not ready for the Brazilian steakhouse.” It’s been a “joke” at our house for years.
Here’s the thing, my son has been growing. He’s 14 now and guess what…he’s eating more! And more! So, for his eighth grade graduation we took him to the Brazilian steakhouse, Chima!
It was a very exciting night! The place is big and very nice. They have a huge salad bar. My husband’s advice to anyone and everyone, “Don’t fill up on the salad bar – wait for the meat!” So we were prepared, we got very small salads and waited for the meat.
You have a chip on your table. When you want meat, you turn it to the green side. When you need a break, you turn it to the red side. The boys started quickly. Meat was coming and coming! I finally turned my chip green and started too. And, the meat kept coming.
It was all good. Some things were better than others. I have trouble telling what was what because there was so much at one time so I can’t remember which were the best cuts. If you go, I’d stay away from the pork, chicken, and fish. Just stick with the red meat! They also give you side dishes. The mashed potatoes and yucca fries were fantastic.
We finally turned our chips to red. We were stuffed. My son did my husband proud! We had no room for dessert, unfortunately. We even talked about stopping for something on the way home but were still way too full.
