My First Vlog Post

Oh yeah, you read it right – it’s my first entry into vlogging! If you don’t know what a vlog is, let me tell ya’…it’s a video blog. So, it’s like a video of what you might put in a blog post.

I’ve been hearing and seeing vlogs all over the place. It’s the latest “thing” to do. I haven’t been into doing one myself because my focus is writing. It doesn’t seem to make sense that if I want to be a stronger writer to start doing videos. Right? Right!

But, hey, I want to be cool, hip, and trendy sometimes too – so I found what I thought was the perfect entry into vlogging!

My son, Matt, has summer reading, which he says he hates but I think he secretly likes. Although he only has to read one book, I’m not satisfied with that…I mean one book over the entire summer. No way!

So, I checked out the book list. I got the one he wanted and two others. I thought it would be cool if we both read them since it was so cool when we both read Hunger Games (thanks, Jamie).

Then, I came up with the greatest brainstorm, ever. E-V-E-R!

We could do vlogs reviewing the books! Genius, right? Right! OMG, I’m so super excited!!!

So, here it is!!!! This is our review on the book We Were Here by Matt de la Pena.

Hit the triangle below and get to watching! And, please, please, please, let me know what you think about it.

  1. Well I could only watch the first two minutes since I haven’t read the book, but I have to ask…Are you always that happy and energetic? I relate far more to Matt who looks like he has the whole “Mom’s talking, look like I’m paying attention” thing down pat.
All that aside, any book that gets 4 or 5 stars is probably worth a read, so I’ll be adding it to my kids list. Thanks, and we enjoyed your vlog (or at least the first 1/4 of it).

    • Thanks for commenting!!

Yes (I’m really that weird most of the time) and yes (Matt has the situation down pat)!

Please come back and watch the rest once you’ve read it – Matt is definitely more engaged!
